Rep. Ed Stafman

Montana HD #59

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. I LOOK FORWARD TO BEGINNING MY THIRD TERM AS YOUR REPRESENTATIVE IN SOUTH BOZEMAN’S HD#59. With your help, I received the second highest vote total of any House Democrat in the State.

As I have done for the last two sessions, I'll continue to work -- across party lines where possible -- on issues we all care about: reducing property taxes; affordability in housing, healthcare and child care; increased access to mental health care; protecting reproductive freedom of choice; advocating for our constitutional right to a clean and healthful environment, quality public schools, and keeping public lands in public hands. You can find a description of the bills I sponsored last session here. And my preliminary bill titles for the 2025 session are numbered LC 1382-1402, and can be found here.

The Republican super-majority from last session has ended as Democrats have secured 42 seats in the 100 member body, an increase of 10 seats from last session. My hope is that Democrats and moderate Republicans will be able to work together for the good of every day Montanans. I’m excited about the new Gallatin County Democratic candidates who will increase Gallatin County’s representation in Helena.

I believe in representing my constituents. I will always listen to your concerns, and with your help, I will strive to bring integrity and compassion to Helena.

Because of re-districting, lines have changed, but the majority of voters in HD#59 are the same voters whom I have represented these past two terms. See the map here. In general terms, HD#59 runs from Kagy south to the mountains, west to Fowler, and east to now include the Tree streets, Painted Hills, Triple Tree, and neighborhoods south of the interstate east to the Park county line.
